How it’s scored
From the app's own scoring code, as of September 2026.
This game doesn't grade a single attempt. It counts right answers, and a hundredth right answer clears the game.
A color is named. Tap any button that isn't that color. The named color is always on the board, and at least one button is always safe. A wrong tap costs a heart, and so does running out of time. Here you play Colors, with one heart. In the app, Colors + shapes puts a shape on every button and gives you two hearts.
It gets harder as you go:
| From round | What changes |
|---|---|
| 1 | Four buttons, four colors |
| 6 | Colors start to repeat on the board |
| 13 | Six buttons. Half the time, the word is written in the ink of a color that's safe to tap |
| 21 | Look-alike shades, and sometimes a button that jolts while you think |
| 31 | Nine buttons, and the ink lies more often |
You get 2.2 seconds to answer at first. That shrinks a little every round, to 0.8 seconds at about round 40.
Questions
- Is this a Stroop test?
- No. In a Stroop test you name the ink a color word is printed in. Here you tap any color except the one the word names. From round 13 the ink is there to mislead you, which is why it's Stroop-style.
- Why isn't my score out of 100 like the other games?
- It counts right answers, and 100 of them clears the game.
- What happens if I'm too slow?
- Running out of time costs a heart, the same as a wrong tap. With one heart, that ends the game.
