How to play Freeze Throw

Freeze Throw is a paper ball throwing game for two, set in a classroom. You sit at facing desks, and for one minute you throw paper balls at each other's desk while the teacher patrols the aisle.

  1. Throw. Pull back and let go. The further you pull, the further the ball flies.
  2. Aim. Your rival's head is worth 3 points, the cup 2 and the eraser 1.
  3. Freeze. When the teacher turns to look, hold your finger still. A still finger isn't noticed.
  4. Win. Score the most points before the bell.

Detention slips and getting sent out

  • Get caught aiming or throwing while the teacher is looking, or hit the teacher, and you get a detention slip.
  • Each slip costs 2 points, though a score never drops below 0.
  • Three slips and you're sent out, and your rival wins.
  • Spot your rival winding up a throw? Tap Miss! to call the teacher's eye their way. You have to wait a few seconds before you can do it again.

The teacher gets quicker as the minute runs down, and some looks come with only a short warning. If nobody is sent out, the higher score at the bell wins, and equal scores are a draw.
